Escape the room in this game
Pyrolyzis is a 3D horror game that will play with your mind. The third installment in JN Squared's Nightmare Series will place you in a room that you will need to escape. The trouble is, once you unlock the door, you will see the same room you just left but is actually different. This free game is simple to play, however, as with the first two titles of the series, it is a short experience.
What is Pyrolyzis?
As noted, Pyrolyzis lets you have a heart-pounding adventure inside a small room. Like any escape the room games, your goal is to get out of the room. You can putz around looking for objects that would activate the continuation of the story. Doing so will unlock the door, and you can enter the next room. Here is where the game really starts. The next room will be the same room you just escaped from.
The unique gameplay is what makes the game interesting. Unlike similar games, your next stage will be the same since you've been there. You already have an idea of what to expect. However, while the room is the same, the circumstances will be different. There will be subtle differences like the room is suddenly mirrored. There will also be something new—like a corpse pinned to the ceiling—which will add effect to the already thrilling plot.
Pyrolyzis can have both a good ending and a bad ending. However, both endings are a bit anti-climactic that you can't really differentiate them. More than that, there doesn't seem to be many clues to indicate what actually happened to you. Also, for a game that uses the same location at every stage, there are times when it just confuses players.
Less is more
Pyrolyzis is an example of a game where the developers create more out of less. The game does not come with a lot of tricks and jump scares, but it gave its players a good fright. More so, though it only uses the same location, players will have a different experience every time they enter the next stage. The ending could use a few improvements, but overall, it is a unique horror game to play.
